Request for Informal Assessment Review (No Filing Fee Required)If you believe the market value of your property is lower than your Proposition 13 assessed value, you can proactively request an informal review. The information provided will only be considered for the upcoming assessment roll and is not a formal assessment appeal. The filing period for an informal review is January 1 to April 30, each year and is closed for 2024. Claim for Homeowners' Property Tax Exemption (No Filing Fee Required)The Homeowners' Exemption form is automatically mailed to the new owners of a single-family residential property pre-filled for your convenience. After the initial filing of your exemption is approved, the exemption is renewed automatically every year unless a change in residence or ownership occurs. If you do not receive an application within 90 days of recording your deed, please call (714) 834-3821. Alternatively you can download a blank Claim for Homeowners’ Property Tax Exemption form, however we encourage you to please call our office at (714) 834-3821 and allow us to assist you. |
Homeowners' Exemption Termination Notice (No Filing Fee Required)If you move out of you principal residence where you were receiving a HOX, please submit this form to avoid any penalty or fees. |
