Request for Informal Assessment Review (No Filing Fee Required)
If you believe the market value of your property is lower than your Proposition 13 assessed value, you can proactively request an informal review. The information provided will only be considered for the upcoming assessment roll and is not a formal assessment appeal. The filing period for an informal review is January 1 to April 30, each year and is open for 2025.
You may contact the Assessor Department at (714) 834-2727 if you have questions regarding the informal review process.
Claim for Homeowners' Property Tax Exemption (No Filing Fee Required)
The Homeowners' Exemption form is automatically mailed to the new owners of a single-family residential property pre-filled for your convenience.
After the initial filing of your exemption is approved, the exemption is renewed automatically every year unless a change in residence or ownership occurs.
If you do not receive an application within 90 days of recording your deed, please call (714) 834-3821.
This exclusion only applies to property that is developed and held for sale. The application is only required on subdivisions of four or less parcels. Subdivisions of five parcels or more are automatically granted the exclusion. Applications must be received prior to or within 30 days of the commencement of construction. Not available on-line, please call (714) 834-2727 for an application.
